Friday 11/25 AKA Black Friday
Some people have been asking us what we will be doing for black Friday, so I'm going to give you all a little taste of some of the great vinyl that be will filling the store. We will not be carrying any black Friday RSD releases. We will be stocking 100's of killer rare and out of print 45s and LPs covering Punk, New Wave, Power Pop, Hardcore grindcore, Nu Metal, Metalcore, Soul, Funk, Jazz and more.
For punk and hardcore stuff, we will have some original vinyl from some Philly favorites such as YDI (yes "A Place In The Sun" w/ insert and sticker) as well as FOD's 1st 7" and LP. Let us not forget the often overlooked Follow Fashion Monkeys LP, great Lehigh valley HC/punk worth grabbing before some idiot blogs about it and the price blows up....oh wait! Fresh 45s from Motorhead, Adverts, Discharge, Iron Cross, Shattered Faith, Dirt, Pere Ubu, PIL, Poison Idea, Olho Seco, S.O.B., Fuck-Ups, Morbid Opera, Clitboys, Infest, Fearless Iranians From Hell and much more. Some Great LPs from Modern Lovers, Offenders, Decry, Gauze, The Comes, G-Zet, Corrosion Of Conformity, T.S.O.L., D.R.I., Ramones, Stiff Little Fingers and much more.
A box of Nu Metal and Metalcore LPs came in last week and will be available Friday. Bands include Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Wage War, We Came As Romans, August Burn Red, I Prevail, As I Lay Dying, BlessTheFall, Bullet For My Valentine, Crown The Empire and more. Many of these are on limited colors and out of print.
I'm still getting together and pricing The Soul, Funk and Jazz stuff, but you can expect some original Blue Note and Prestige records as well as some original Black Jazz titles. In addition to that, expect another box of mostly sealed soul and R&B LPs. Some artists you can expect to see will be Miles Davis, Roland Haynes, Doug Carn, James Brown, O'Donel Levy and more.
After our little Instagram blackout last month we decided to try relying on it less and now we'll be posting more here about used stuff that goes out in the store. We will continue to use IG but will be posting much less of the records that get messages like "how much? Mailorder? How do I pay digitally?" Also its pretty lame when someone comes in because they saw 1 record posted and don't bother to look through anything else.
There will be a whole bunch of used t-shirts going out and if the weather is nice we will have a few racks set up out front for the first couple hours of the day. This just scratches the surface of everything that will be going out.
